At the beginning of January Tony Geering owner of Puritan Values Ltd with two passionate colleagues Neil Phillips, and James von Claer acquired three historic railway arches in Kentish Town, London.
Tony has bought together the above key figures building a highly qualified new team under the trading name of Decorative Values who together focus on the complete interior design of your home, your garden space or your place of work. We are constantly working together with chosen experts in their specialists fields of design to bring a new era of interior decorating to Puritan and Decorative Values Ltd offering a complete interior design service and to source specific original items within our chosen fields of expertise. From original furniture, fireplaces, lighting, flooring, tiles, stain glass, mirrors, fabrics, soft furnishings. Our motto is as William Morris said :
‘We should have nothing in our houses, which we did not either know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.'

For the building and carpentry side Tony employs Cube Builders, owned by Tony’s brother Chris Geering an exceptionally talented carpenter and highly skilled furniture restorer, and his partner Jon Berry an expert painter and decorator and plasterer with over 60 years experience between them.

We held our first exhibition from late June to mid August this summer at number 235 Westbourne Grove, a wonderful gallery space on two floors which was kindly loaned to us by the renowned British collector John Scott, who recently sold through The Fine Art Society, an important collection of exceptional British Design from the 1860s and 70s.
It was a huge success where we exhibited some incredibly rare and important lighting, furniture and metalwork collected by Tony over the last thirty years he has been specialising in The Arts and Crafts Movement and British Design; Some of the highlights were, an extremely rare five arm chandelier by WAS Benson retaining the original Vaseline shades by James Powell, an equally rare and impressive W A S Benson snooker table light, an array of Benson swan table lamps and wall lights, including towards 500 hand picked original Vaseline shades and lighting by many other designers and makers including The Birmingham Guild of Handicraft.
Furniture designed by E W Godwin and made by William Watt and Collinson and Lock, to include an important oak fireplace possibly from Grey Towers in Nunthorpe, a rare settee designed for Dromore castle, an Anglo-Japanese Walnut Cabinet with painted panels attributed to Henry Stacey marks originally designed for George Bird a friend of Ellen Terry and the father of Elfrida Bird who married Luke Ionides the Greek shipping magnet and patron to the circle of William Morris. Further items by Godwin include Rosewood side tables, multi leg tables and a rare five leg side table with turned stretchers united to a central wheel..
A fantastic quality rosewood cabinet designed for Eaton Hall, Cheshire, and the lost Godwin cabinet noted in Susan Soros The Secular Furniture of E W Godwin as ‘whereabouts unknown’.
A highly important desk designed by Thomas Jeckyll, and made by Charles Hindley. A highly important chair designed by Arthur Heygate Mackmurdo and the Century Guild for the head of Rainhill Hospital, St Helens, South Lancashire.
An exceptional desk and chair by George Walton designed in 1898, and an important writing bureau attributed Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
